Cycles of Life, Death and Rebirth

Earlier in the year, a group of us created a new website around the theme Death is not the End – https://deathisnotend.com. Our main message is that death is best understood as a transition rather than extinction, as predicted by the mainstream assumption that the brain generates consciousness, an assumption that is increasingly being called into question, as in our own Galileo Report. More leading scientists are asserting the primacy of consciousness as an essential point of departure.
On the basis of our own lived experience, we will explore the theme of cycles and transitions in our lives, endings and new beginnings (TS Eliot, Four Quartets), contractions and expansions, withdrawals and returns (Arnold Toynbee), losses and gains, all potentially leading to growth in wisdom and compassion. Goethe’s approach is highly relevant here, both as an understanding of Nature and the cycles of his life, discussed by John Barnes in his book Goethe and the Rhythms of Life.
Towards the end of the meeting and in the context of cycles, we will feel into the next phase of the Galileo Commission – what is ours to do in from 2027 to 2029?
As is customary in our European meetings, we will use a Bohmian dialogue process to enable us to enter more deeply into this theme.

We have received a proposal from Todd Bureau around the theme of how events like this potentiate change and engage us in understanding the spiritual nature of being.
