Event Description

What if the polycrisis we are facing is, at its root, a spiritual crisis? A disenchantment of the world resulting from constricted metaphysical beliefs. Informed by the foundation of physics, the information-theoretic paradigm, complexity science, the philosophy of mind, and the cross-cultural testimony of shamans, mystics, meditators, and psychonauts, the contours of a new worldview are becoming visible, radically changing how we understand ourselves and the cosmos. In its essence, it is a merger of scientific knowledge and spiritual wisdom. What will surprise the Western mind is that this rediscovered metaphysics is both rationally defensible and experientially accessible. It is a vision that has been part of human culture since the dawn of the human mind.

James B. Glattfelder is a complexity scientist, author, and former quant with a background in theoretical physics. His work explores the foundations of reality, the nature of consciousness, and the emergence of meaning through the lens of metaphysical idealism. He is the author of Information–Consciousness–Reality (2019) and The Sapient Cosmos (2025). His research has been featured in international media, and he is a frequent speaker at both academic and public events. James is happily married and lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
