Event description

Plantation of the Automatons warns about the rise of an automatic, global electronic plantation of tech-totalitarian control as a mass machine of governance of human intelligence by elite-run, corporate-concentrated machine intelligence, emerging from a long historical trajectory and promoted in the work of H.G. Wells and others who constitute the ‘Empire of Scientism.’

James Tunney qualified as a barrister and studied at Trinity College Dublin, The Honorable Society of the King’s Inn and Queen Mary College University of London, before working as a teacher, lecturer, senior lecturer, visiting professor and international jurist. He left his academic career entirely to concentrate on art and spirituality but returned to public debate to warn about the threats of governance by scientocracy or technocracy and the associated inherent transhuman and posthuman threat. He advocates for greater spiritual evolution consistent with the perennial philosophy and the dignity of individual personhood.
