Hardin Tibbs is a management consultant who helps organizations research and interpret complex emerging issues and apply the resulting insights to gain strategic advantage.
He has worked with companies, governments, and non-profits in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, on a wide range of issues ranging from car technology for Nissan to food policy for the UK government. He is currently CEO of Synthesys Strategic Consulting Ltd., a UK-based management consulting firm. Before founding Synthesys in the mid-1990s he was a senior consultant with the scenario firm Global Business Network (GBN) in California. Prior to that he was a consultant at the international management, technology and environmental consulting firm Arthur D. Little, Inc. in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
In addition to his strategy work, Hardin is skilled in concept development for innovation and product design, and has made significant contributions to the development of industrial ecology, a systemic approach to environmental sustainability. He is an analyst and facilitator, and he researches, writes, teaches and presents on future-oriented topics.
Hardin teaches at a number of business schools including the Judge Business School at Cambridge University, and helped to develop the executive education scenarios programme at the Saïd Business School, Oxford University. He is a member of the Association of Professional (APF), and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (RSA) in London, UK.
He has an MSc in Management and a BA Degree in Industrial Design Engineering.
