Consciousness Education Project

Joan and Laurel are educational researchers seeking to bring postmaterialist perspectives of consciousness into education at all levels, from early years, through primary, secondary, higher education, and beyond.  We are inviting interested people to join us in the evolution of consciousness education. We define consciousness education as “education about perspectives on the source and nature of consciousness and their implications for ways of being, knowing, teaching, and learning.”  The inclusion of the word ‘perspectives’ is significant, as it allows us to be open to alternative ways of understanding consciousness, encouraging constructive dialogue about the diverse meanings consciousness has in different contexts.

In early 2024, Joan and Laurel held 3 sessions that instigated the project and aimed at developing a Consciousness Education Network.

Frontier Journalists’ Network

The FJN is an international group of editorial professionals devoted to making it easier for journalists to get the resources they need to cover the mysteries of human experience, such as the nature of consciousness and the science of spirituality.

Unfolding Consciousness – Edi Bilimoria

Humanity has undoubtedly derived considerable material benefit from an age dominated by scientific technology, but it has largely ignored the Key, the esoteric and occult sciences, which reveals the spiritual origins and the true nature of the universe and of humanity. That Key discloses the means to restore humanity to human beings, and reveals, unequivocally, the unfolding and expression of the universal, world-pervading Element through all the Kingdoms of Nature—CONSCIOUSNESS.

Asian Traditional & Indigenous Wisdom and Science – Rahul Goswami

Traditional medicinal, healing and curative sciences and arts stand, in many ways, at the threshold between material and non-material worlds. Their most experienced practitioners have developed ways of not only seeing, but of understanding and diagnosing currents and fluxes within and surrounding our gross bodies.

Completing the Spectrum – Nicholas Rosseinsky

This initiative adopts a tentative (non-dual) psychospiritual framework for Ground, Self, and Soul; for the arising of the illusion of separation; and for the emergence of our local Universe and material process, as a response to that arising. In this hypothetical context, humanity’s challenge is: how are we to relinquish participation in separation, individually and collectively?

Psychophysics of Consciousness: How psychology lost its mind – Charles Fox

The intention of this initiative is to explore a new approach to the psychology of mind/consciousness... At this point in history, theoretical physics, cognitive science, and psychology are demonstrating a collation and integration of evidence that may provide a fruitful ground for this new psychology to grow.

A Call for a Renaissance of the Spirit in the Humanities

The “Call for a Renaissance of the Spirit in the Humanities”, written by Dr Athena D. Potari, is a pioneering project aiming to raise awareness regarding how the prevailing paradigm of materialism affects the ways in which knowledge is approached within the context of the Humanities. In line with the Galileo Report, which discusses the importance of liberating the positive sciences from the limitations of the paradigm of scientific materialism, this Call aims at making the case for the Humanities as well. The Call explores how recent developments in scientific studies on consciousness, and the ensuing understanding that consciousness is primary and unified, can inform our understanding of what it means to be “human” with correspondingly appropriate epistemologies, as well as how we approach key areas of human activity, including ethics, politics and the environment.
